He's Almost Back, BABY

Since my son broke his ankle during his hockey game on May 20th, there has been NO hockey for him.................a full leg splint, shorter temp cast, surgery, regular cast, pain meds, crutches, a boot and physical therapy. Today was his FIRST day on skates (roller blades, not yet ice skates, but gotta start somewhere). He did pretty well................they say in about two weeks he should be able to play in a regular aggressive ice hockey game. It feels like forever, but as his fans.............................me, his sister, dad and I are ready to CHEER. Go Ice Sharks and especially #55

Early A.M. and a Weekend Sale

Well, its early morning here...........early for me! I dont know how people get up at this unGodly hour. SLEEP SLEEP SLEEP SLEEP

What do you do to fall asleep? I dont know why i've had such a hard time lately, but night before last i didnt sleep at all..........not one hour! kept trying and have things running thru my head, hearing noises, feeling sick, etc etc. it was horrible! had to work all day and when i finally did get to sleep last night i had been awake for about 35 hours. So what? warm milk? hot tea? lavendar bath? something has to work!

We've also had lots and lots of rain around here for days and nights. I know lots of people like the rain and its good for the grass and crops and all that good stuff, but i'm bored of it. I want to sing that rain rain go away song. Its funny here in FL cause in the summer months its either feast or famine with the rain. It either doesnt rain at all, and we have all sorts of water restrictions or this.............all day every day. PST, and i cant find my umbrella!

Thats LIFE

................and heres how things are buzzing along in my corner of the world! My new job is going pretty good. I am tired allllll the time tho. It is going to be hard to get used to it. The pay is good so that is a plus.
VJs ankle is getting better and better every day. He's been staying at the girlfriends place, but i have seen him a few times and he's walking without the boot (now that the cast has been off two weeks) and doing pretty well, just a slight limp. In no time at all he should be back on ice playing hockey. We're all pretty excited.
Chrissys new little job has been exciting for her and she's making lots of tips................she is trying to plan a vacation with her boyfriend for a week. It has me a little nervous. This empty nest syndrome is starting to hit me.
Victor is still plugging along at his management job. I dont think he likes it much better but for now its what pays the most.
And of course the cat is the cat. Rajah is doing pretty well for a cat that the vet didnt expect to make it till the first of the year, and then gave him only about 3 mos to live. I guess he truly is rajah the great...............................and i have been putting a lot of prayers in to st francis of assissi for all small animals and pets.
I'm not having as much time for etsy now that i am working, but i am doing it as much as i can and running specials here and there. Mostly working on the iced beverage skirts and selling more off etsy than on...............a sale is a sale and its all good!

Working a NEW job

Well, i started my new job this week. pretty interesting. I am doing reception/admin/billing for a chiropractors office. kind of strange tho........i have never BEEN to a chiropractor in my life (military insurance does not pay for that sort of thing). And it all seems a little strange to me. But its been great so far, so no complaining except i am tired and dont have as much time for my etsy shop. OH BABY!!!!

I got some great news this week. One of my best friends, who is sadly stationed with hubby in Guam right now, has just found out she is pregnant again!!!! She already has a sweet little girl, and i wonder if this one will be a boy! Hopefully they will come back to the states soon.

My Hockey Son

Just blogging about my son cause i am so proud of him! He plays in an adult hockey league and unfortunately broke his ankle a few weeks ago. Although he wasnt able to participate he still went to the games, even when he was in pain, so that he could be part of the team and cheer them on. they had a playoff game and championship game that he sooooooooooo wanted to play. I thought he would jump right out of his skin! Unfortunately they did not win the championships, and my son is out for at least another 2 months, but then he's getting right back in there!
At first the dr thought he would have to put a plate and screws into his foot so surgery was scheduled and it would have been a much much longer recovery........but once in for surgery, doc realized the ankle was stable enough and just casted it! YAY! As upset as he was over all this, i am just so proud that he still participated and showed what he was made of! Makes a mother cry! GO ICE SHARKS, ESP #55

Its quite easy, as well, to join as a seller. Setting up shop is as easy as ABC. Adding and editing items is a breeze and the cost is affordable. List all types of hand crafted items and promote in the forums and on your blog or myspace for interest and sales.

its almost summer time and the living is free and easy! well thats what they say. What says fresh and summery and fun more than watermelon.? its cool and refreshing and its the most fun summertime treat!!!!! almost better than a dessert. Flip Flops for Summer

Whether you live here in Florida, like me, Virginia, California, or even Wyoming, I think lots of us like to wear some sort of sandals or flip flops during the summer. They're comfy and they're fun! i've added lots of new flips to my etsy shop. The fun thing about these are that they are all so colorful, fuzzy, furry and fun fun fun! Fathers Day

These holidays sneak up on you before you even realize it. So here we are in June and the next thing you know, it'll be Dads Day! The New Reach Cloth

Well, i have always made cotton washcloths in my etsy shop, and they sold pretty well. I do different styles, colors, sizes and shapes and they all are designed after one of sweetspices sugar body scrubs, as we have "combined forces" for some cross marketing so to speak. Well one of them, pink lemonade, is a little longer than the rest...................one of my buyers commented on how easy it was to use to scrub her back. When i was telling my mother, she said, "wow, i could use something like that, I have so much trouble reaching my back, but maybe a little longer". That prompted me to make the reach cloth extra long back scrubber crocheted cotton washcloth! It can be done in many colors and remember cotton washcloths are soft, washable and also exfoliate the skin.

Mini Scrapbooks

Scrapbooking is in art, or so i'm told! I love it, and it seems to be all around us. Plus what a great way to preserve memories. Not just for teenagers or even adults anymore. Little kids love it.............and it can be something as simple as gluing some special pics on to a page.......but what do you need? A SCRAPBOOK! i have some cute minis in my shop. Just the right thing for the kiddos..........they also make a nice grandparent gift, once filled with the little ones photos!

TINKERBELL

Flowerpots

Flowerpot pens are just the thing for Mothers Day. I can do these in custom colors, flowers, etc. Large type flowers work best for this type of gift. Never lose a pen again though. Most people will not walk off with your pen when a big ole flower is attached. Plus it looks so pretty sitting on your desk, kitchen counter, table, etc. I've even done some of these for mens desks.........in plain carnations or such. They never lose them. Bunnies are popping up all over

You know the saying....................multiplying like rabbits? well, that seems to be what is happening in my etsy shop! First there were just two...........then some little ones got into the carrot seeds, then some baby bunnies appeared, some even left! Another new one today!
