He's Almost Back, BABY

Since my son broke his ankle during his hockey game on May 20th, there has been NO hockey for him.................a full leg splint, shorter temp cast, surgery, regular cast, pain meds, crutches, a boot and physical therapy. Today was his FIRST day on skates (roller blades, not yet ice skates, but gotta start somewhere). He did pretty well................they say in about two weeks he should be able to play in a regular aggressive ice hockey game. It feels like forever, but as his fans.............................me, his sister, dad and I are ready to CHEER. Go Ice Sharks and especially #55

Somebodys Mother

.............somebodys mother, thats me! and on the ice shark hockey website, I have now joined as a fan and chosen my favorite player. why you ask? well its simple.............my 22 year old hockey son is a member of that team............although he's been injured and coaching instead of playing this season, he'll soon be back and better than ever. I am in stiff competition as #1 fan of #55 Vic Alvira ice shark, with my daughter Chrissy who SEEMS to think she's the #1 fan, only cause shes the loudest! Thats LIFE

................and heres how things are buzzing along in my corner of the world! My new job is going pretty good. I am tired allllll the time tho. It is going to be hard to get used to it. The pay is good so that is a plus.
VJs ankle is getting better and better every day. He's been staying at the girlfriends place, but i have seen him a few times and he's walking without the boot (now that the cast has been off two weeks) and doing pretty well, just a slight limp. In no time at all he should be back on ice playing hockey. We're all pretty excited.
Chrissys new little job has been exciting for her and she's making lots of tips................she is trying to plan a vacation with her boyfriend for a week. It has me a little nervous. This empty nest syndrome is starting to hit me.
Victor is still plugging along at his management job. I dont think he likes it much better but for now its what pays the most.
And of course the cat is the cat. Rajah is doing pretty well for a cat that the vet didnt expect to make it till the first of the year, and then gave him only about 3 mos to live. I guess he truly is rajah the great...............................and i have been putting a lot of prayers in to st francis of assissi for all small animals and pets.
I'm not having as much time for etsy now that i am working, but i am doing it as much as i can and running specials here and there. Mostly working on the iced beverage skirts and selling more off etsy than on...............a sale is a sale and its all good!

My Hockey Son

Just blogging about my son cause i am so proud of him! He plays in an adult hockey league and unfortunately broke his ankle a few weeks ago. Although he wasnt able to participate he still went to the games, even when he was in pain, so that he could be part of the team and cheer them on. they had a playoff game and championship game that he sooooooooooo wanted to play. I thought he would jump right out of his skin! Unfortunately they did not win the championships, and my son is out for at least another 2 months, but then he's getting right back in there!
At first the dr thought he would have to put a plate and screws into his foot so surgery was scheduled and it would have been a much much longer recovery........but once in for surgery, doc realized the ankle was stable enough and just casted it! YAY! As upset as he was over all this, i am just so proud that he still participated and showed what he was made of! Makes a mother cry! GO ICE SHARKS, ESP #55
